Recording Business Miles - the Solution!

A new device aimed at accurately recording business mileage and removing the fear of a visit from the taxman has been launched on the UK business market.

Aimed at companies with fleet cars, the automated drivers log book takes away the headache of company car drivers remembering to correctly record their business trips.

Entrepreneur Simon Harris has developed the concept specifically for the UK business car user market with stunning results.

ACCREDIS is a distance, time and location registration device which automates and simplifies business trip reporting for all companies that use cars for business purposes.

It has come at a crucial time for firms which are now under threat of swingeing fines issued by the taxman for failing to submit correct mileage forms.

"This solution replaces the time consuming and archaic practice of writing your business trip details on a piece of paper at the end of each day," said businessman Simon Harris, of FleetConsult Ltd.

While protecting the employees privacy ACCREDIS is simple to use and accurately records all business miles which are then transferred to a database, that produces standard reports, so that companies no longer have to spend hours checking paperwork. It also takes away the fear of a visit from the Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs.

Simon (51) first saw the Dutch designed device when he was managing director in charge of the European business unit of a global, US based, company.

"As soon as I saw it, I knew this was the answer for logging business trips for UK companies, while protecting employees privacy."

Simon believed in it so much he resigned his executive job and invested significantly in developing the product for the UK market. He launched FleetConsult soon after and is now the exclusive UK distributor based in offices at Grosvenor House, Telford.

And his intuition has seen his new business soar since ACCREDIS was launched earlier this year.

"We are closing deals with some very large, international, blue chip businesses. But both big and small companies will benefit financially from this device." said Simon.

He claims the corporate world will save billions of pounds in tax and National Insurance while the company car driver will no longer be financially punished for filing incorrect mileage accounts.

A knock-on effect is that while a drivers private trip detail is not collated, the device will detect if a driver is driving over their stipulated hours limit contributing to road safety which has seen up to one in four road accidents involving motorists driving while at work.

One Shropshire business which has already installed the ACCREDIS device is estate agent Andrew Dixon and Company.

It makes life so much easier for both the company car driver and the company. It also saves us time and money, said Andrew Dixon.

We spend so much office time making sure our mileage forms are correctly filled in and going back to check up on any mistakes. But this clever device does it all for you and means that no-one is paying any more than they should for a company car.

With this machine an employer can easily differentiate between business and private mileage. We now know that our mileage records are absolutely correct and up to date,"he added.
